Christoph Silber and Thorsten Wettcke have been a writing team for several years. Groundbreaking episodes for TATORT, Germany’s legendary feature-length series, won them critical acclaim and a lead spot in crime writing. In 2007 the Hamburg TATORT picked Silber and Wettcke as head writers to develop the character of undercover detective Cenk Batu played by Mehmet Kurtulus, „the coolest cop in German TV“ according to BILD Zeitung. Other projects include scripts for the Berlin TATORT, the Munich POLIZEIRUF and a new crime series about a corrupt and burnt out detective.
They wrote several scripts for ZDF’s DER KRIMINALIST starring Christian Berkel and grabbed the head writer position for the series in 2008. But the two can do far more than crime. In 2007 they teamed up for their first English language screenplay LANCELOT – THE FIRST KNIGHT for Pro 7 / BBC.

On top of their joined projects Silber and Wettcke each have their own career in film. Silber is best known for his collaboration on GOOD BYE LENIN and NORDWAND. In 2006 he directed the short ICEWIND. Wettcke for his part wrote and directed the films EIN GÖTTLICHER JOB and SUNNY and is currently developing the event movie TIME FRAME for Pro 7.

While Berlin-born Silber lives and works in New York, Baden-born Wettcke holds the fort in Berlin.
